Short Presentation

Ileana is a technically qualified lawyer specializing in patent law.
She is a patent, trademark and design attorney authorized to act before the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (SOIT) and the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM). She is also a European patent attorney authorized to act before the European Patent Office (EPO).

Ileana is a member of the Bucharest Bar, the Romanian Patent Chamber and the European Patent Institute (EPI).

Ileana has attended numerous courses and seminars relating to European patent law, organized by the European Patent Academy, the European Patent Institute and CEIPI (Centre d'Études Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle).

She is one of the two qualified EPI tutors in Romania authorized by the EPO to hold seminars for candidates preparing for the European Qualifying Examination (EQE).

Before joining CAAL, Ileana worked for 7 years with a reputed national IP firm and for 2 years with one of the leading Romanian law firms, conducting freedom-to-operate patent searches for pharmaceutical companies and advising on patent infringement matters. She has been involved in the development of patent prosecution / litigation strategies and pharmaceutical regulatory issues. She handled the prosecution of European patents and has also been involved in trademark and design related issues.

She is currently following a postgraduate-level training programme with the University of Manchester in the field of Industrial Pharmacy with a focus on pharmaceutical formulations.
